Mobina has started her upper secondary studies

Mobina Hosseini started her studies in Espoon Yhteislyseo Upper Secondary School in August. “I had heard beforehand that this school has good teachers and a good community spirit.”
For the first couple of days, Mobina was a little worried about whether she could make new friends. “But there’s no need to worry about things like that; even if your old friends aren’t in the same school or group, you always find new friends in school,” Mobina notes. A special event was organised for new students at a nearby football field, with lots of fun activities. During the event, the students got to know each other and their groups.
Teachers provide assistance
Mobina feels that upper secondary school is not difficult as long as one studies properly. “Having motivation is essential. Upper secondary school has a lot of independent work, but I like it.”
She applauds the teachers: “Our mathematics teacher is wonderful. All teachers will help you if you just have the courage to ask.”
Mobina has plenty of motivation. After upper secondary school, she plans to go to a university, possibly to study law.
Mobina’s day:
6:30 Wake-up: breakfast and getting ready
7:30 Travel to upper secondary school on two buses
8:20 School starts
14:30 Coming home from school
15:30 At home: eating a snack and relaxing (e.g., on the phone)
18:00-19:30 Homework
19:30-23:00 Hanging out
23:00 Going to sleep
During weekends, Mobina helps her parents in their hair salon. She does make up for brides, among others.
At the time of this interview, test week is coming up in a week. Mobina will have three tests: mathematics, Swedish and mother tongue. She is well prepared for the tests and doesn’t have to worry about the coming week.
