During the season, we will take time to celebrate the 20-year-old Sello Hall and hear great Finnish and foreign artists, without forgetting concerts for the whole family!

Events for 20 years

Sello Hall, a house of music, performing arts, film and other high-quality events, has been operating in Leppävaara for 20 years.

The 20th anniversary of Sello Hall will be celebrated on 15 and 16 September with gala concerts, where multi-talented musicians will take us on a journey from 2003 to today.  The concert promises musical fireworks and an entertaining cavalcade of the best Finnish music from two decades.

Sello Hall was opened in autumn 2003 next to a new shopping centre. Two decades ago, bringing non-material cultural experiences and commerciality together in the quickly expanding Leppävaara was something new and radical. The enthusiastic spirit of cooperation is still strong. Sello Hall has grown into a nationally significant event venue, gig place and a stage of living culture that offers high-quality experiences in many genres and welcomes audiences of all ages and backgrounds to events without age limits,” says Henna Salo, Production Manager at Sello Hall.

Nielsen played in the Prince gig in Helsinki in 2011 and was voted among the top 10 bassists in the world (Music Radar) in 2019. Together with her band The Funkbots, Nielsen offers an energetic funk show with a guest star, the Finnish beatbox master Felix Zenger.

During the Etnosoi! festival on 8 November, Windborne, four experts in the American tradition of harmonised singing, arrives in Sello Hall and Finland for the first time ever! Traditional instruments such as banjo and washing board spice up their clean singing harmonies. The emotionally strong, touching harmonies include opinionated lyrics. The evening’s opening act is the Iranian multi-instrumentalist Mehrnoosh Zolfaghari whose main instrument is the traditional Persian stringed instrument called santoor.
