The City of Espoo will be organising a wide range of integration activities for school-age children and their guardians in November 2023
Children and young people with an immigrant background and their families are welcome to participate in the events organised by the City. The City will be organising further education evenings and ‘Parents to school!’ training, among other events.
Further education evenings (organised by Multicultural Education Services)
Further education evenings are intended for pupils with an immigrant background from 7th grade up and their guardians. The events provide participants with information about further education opportunities after basic education, the Finnish education system, general upper secondary school, vocational education and training, preparatory education for upper secondary qualification (TUVA) and basic education for adults (AIPE). The events will also be attended by cultural instructors, who will be interpreting presentations in Ukrainian, Persian, Sorani, Somali, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Albanian and Thai. Ideally, you should start thinking about further education as soon as you start lower secondary school.
