The first renovation phase of the culturally and historically valuable Träskända Manor has been completed. The completed work included the renovation of the facades and roof of the main building, among other things.

During the renovation, the old, worn out windows and entrance doors of the manor building were renovated or replaced. Load-bearing structures of the exterior walls were repaired and three-layer plastering was applied to the facade. In addition, the western courtyard terrace was repaired and the accessibility of the premises was improved by constructing a new accessible entrance to the east side of the building.

The roof of the manor was also repaired. Old, decayed wooden components were removed and the roof tiles and their substructures were replaced. In addition, the courtyards of the manor were modified and subsurface drains were replaced.

“It is wonderful that the facade renovation has been completed successfully and that this historically valuable building now has a new exterior. Gradually, we will get the buildings in the area ready for use,” says Maija Lehtinen, Managing Director of the Premises Department public utility.

According to the preliminary plan, the interior of the manor will be worked on in the second phase of the renovation. However, no schedule or budget has yet been specified for the second phase. The contractor of the first phase was Etelä-Suomen Julkisivupalvelu Oy, and the estimated cost of the contract is approximately EUR 2.6 million.
