Single ticket prices to increase at Leppävaara outdoor swimming pool
The Sports and Exercise Committee has decided to increase prices at the Leppävaara outdoor swimming pool. The increase applies to single tickets and family tickets. The increase does not apply to the multi-admission tickets, which can be used as usual at all city-owned swimming pools.
Espoo’s Sports and Exercise Committee explains that ticket prices were increased due to growing costs.
The outdoor swimming pool’s services are different from those offered at other public swimming pools. The outdoor swimming pool does not have a limited swimming time, which means that visitors can swim and stay on the premises during the opening hours for as long as they want. Prices will not change at the other swimming pools in Espoo.
“Even after this increase, it is still very affordable to visit the swimming pools in Espoo. The outdoor swimming pool has different services than the other swimming pools, and it is justifiable to set its prices separately. And if you have a multi-admission wristband, you can avoid the increase,” says Leo Heiskanen, chairperson of Espoo’s Sports and Exercise Committee.
New prices at the Leppävaara outdoor swimming pool:
- Swimming, EUR 7
- Swimming at a discount price, EUR 4
- Morning swim 6:00–8:30, EUR 6
- Morning swim 6:00–8:30 at a discount price, EUR 3.50
- Swimming + gym, EUR 8
- Swimming + gym at a discount price, EUR 5
- Family ticket: 2 adults and 2 children, EUR 18
- Family ticket: 1 adult and 2 children, EUR 13
Espoo’s Sports and Exercise Committee: “There is a great need for a football stadium and multi-purpose hall”
Espoo’s Sports and Exercise Committee has approved the needs assessment for the construction of a football stadium and a multi-purpose hall in the Tapiola sports park.
The committee proposes that the project be implemented as one project even though, for cost reasons, it has been proposed that it could be carried out in two phases. The football stadium would be built first and the multi-purpose hall during the second phase.
“There is a great need for both a football stadium and a multi-purpose hall. In the current circumstances, Espoo-based athletes cannot be successful in ball games, not even at the highest national level. The sports park is part of the metro corridor, and it is time to upgrade it to serve top-level sports. It will not only affect the area but the entire city’s vitality by offering a modern venue for various purposes, including international events,” says Espoo’s Sports Director Martti Merra.
