Kilo Health Centre introduces new approach to patient care

Kilo Health Centre is the first of Espoo’s health centres to become a ‘team health centre’. Kilo’s professionals developed the approach with the support of an expert partner during autumn 2021. The approach was introduced on Monday, 15 November 2021.

Kilo Health Centre’s appointment booking and information number +358 9 81634500 will remain unchanged, and clients can submit call-back requests on weekdays from 7:00 to 16:00 as before. The health centre’s services will also remain unchanged. What is new is that after the first contact, clients will get a personal contact person, with whom they will deal in all matters related to their health in the future.

The activities have been developed to speed up access to services and to improve the quality and continuity of services. The aim of the change of approach is to increase cooperation between different professionals. The new approach is based on teamwork between different professionals, where the management of the client’s case is started immediately and, if possible, completed during the same day.

Remote activities central to new approach

The client’s affairs are handled remotely when there is no need to visit the health centre. In this way, the client does not need to come in person and, on the other hand, the health centre appointment can be used by someone whose ailment requires a face-to-face meeting.

The next health centre to start training in the team approach will be the Iso Omena Health Centre in early 2022. Their team health centre operations are scheduled to start before the summer.
