Midsummer in Kivenlahti 2026 – Open Call for Event Organisers

This year, the Midsummer festival in Kivenlahti will be organised together with city residents. The Espoonlahti cultural project is launching an open call for event organisers with the aim of finding several small Midsummer events for the whole family in the Kivenlahti area. The Midsummer festival will be held on Friday 19 June 2026 from 15:00 to 20:00.

The Events

The Midsummer festival’s events will be spread out across different parts of Kivenlahti. The Espoonlahti cultural project will organise music-focused events on Hybridiarena Hype’s roof terrace. The project will also be responsible for the entire festival's communications and marketing.

The open call is being held to find event organisers to produce events in different parts of the Kivenlahti area. We value cooperation and new initiatives between different actors.

The Event Organiser’s Responsibilities

The event organiser is independently responsible for producing their own share of the festival, such as:

  • planning and organising their event
  • obtaining the necessary official permits
  • constructing the event venue (e.g. temporary structures, portable toilets)
  • ensuring safety (e.g. security and guard services)
  • cleaning

EUR 500–4 000 will be paid for content and its production as agreed, depending on the scope of the content. The event organiser may not apply for other grants from the City of Espoo for the Midsummer event. The open call also does not concern individual food stands.

Application period: 1 February 2026 – 1 March 2026
