Finnoo – a new sustainable area by the sea
Finnoo, a unique urban area with about 17,000 residents, is being built around the metro station, by the sea and close to nature.
The future-oriented Finnoo area makes use of the newest climate-smart ideas and construction solutions, making it a forerunner in sustainable development in Finland. The metro links the area to the regional and national rail network. Efficient public transport services and high-quality pedestrian and cycling routes support emission-free mobility. Finnoo is being built from the best parts of Espoo.
The journey from the Helsinki Central Railway Station to Finnoo only takes about 20 minutes by metro. It takes about an hour to reach Helsinki Airport by public transport and 30 minutes by car. The nearest urban centre, Matinkylä, is located just a two-minute metro ride away. Another urban centre, Tapiola, can be reached in 10 minutes by metro. The metro ride to the Aalto University campus takes 15 minutes.
