Suurpelto – a unique garden city

Suurpelto is a unique park city in the middle of Espoo with great connections to other parts of Espoo, Helsinki, and the airport.

Currently, there are over 6,300 inhabitants living in Suurpelto and estimated to grow to at least 15,000 by 2050. Suurpelto is being built to an architecturally coherent whole and in line with sustainable development values. Construction projects of 1,000,000 square metres of floor area will be completed by 2050.

Helsinki Central Railway Station is a 40-minute journey away by public transport, while Matinkylä, one of Espoo’s urban centres, is only a 10-minute bus ride away. Another major urban centre, Leppävaara, is an 11-minute bus ride away. The trunk bus route 520 runs from Matinkylä to Leppävaara via Suurpelto. In the future, Suurpelto will also be accessible by rail when the light rail line from Matinkylä to Leppävaara via Suurpelto starts operating. Helsinki-Vantaa airport is located 22 minutes away by car.
