Cityscape Committee
The Cityscape Committee is a working group established by the Environment and Building Control Committee to promote a good cityscape and to monitor the development of the cityscape and particularly the impacts of construction.
As a rule, the Cityscape Committee issues opinions on all projects that the Environment and Building Control Committee decides on as well as on the plans for public buildings, also smaller-scale projects, such as schools and day care centres. Opinions may also be requested concerning other projects that involve specific cityscape-related issues. In addition, all detached house projects in the nationally significant built cultural heritage site in Tapiola must be presented to the Cityscape Committee.
Building project plans are usually discussed by the Cityscape Committee after the initial presentation of the project before the permit application is submitted, based on a preparation schedule set with the permit officer.
The Cityscape Committee comments on project plans from the cityscape perspective without addressing other issues examined during the permit process.
