Two separate series of images created using mixed media, linked by the use of collage and recycled materials.

In the ‘Materiaalin inspiraatio’ series, the materials - old wall papers - have, quite literally, provided the inspiration for the subjects. The old wall papers were also the main the main materials used to create the works. The ideas for the subjects of the pictures arose from the colours, textures and patterns of the wallpapers. The colour palette evoked themes from Italy and Japanese culture, and the floral patterns gave rise to a floral arrangement.

The ‘Tuokiokuvia Toscanan matkalta’ series was inspired by a trip to Tuscany. The subjects of the images are the experiences and feelings from the journey, as well as those before and after the trip. The aim is to invite the viewer on a journey into the light, colours and atmosphere of Tuscany. The works have been created using free publications such as shop customer magazines, as well as various other leaflets and used envelopes, from which very small pieces have been cut or torn and glued onto canvas. The figure appearing in the pictures, the ‘I’ character, has been made from invoice and security envelopes.
