Ilkka Kemppinen is a writer from Imatra. He is deeply interested in the Finnish language and in the many meanings and uses of words. His book Verta ja lunta was published in 2025.

Kemppinen’s latest book, Murhattujen lista (2026), is a historical novel. It tells the story of eight people who end up in the Vuoksenniska prison camp in 1918. The book portrays a difficult period in Finnish history and also encourages reflection on present-day society and politics.
