Family gaming evenings give families a safe and guided environment to spend time together playing games, learn about young people’s gaming culture and strengthen shared activities in families. Participants have access to 15 gaming computers, PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles, an exergame wall and a pool table. Between games participants can also discuss topics like well-being in gaming, rules and a balanced everyday life with a trained instructor. The hobby is suitable for lower secondary school pupils and their guardians. No prior gaming experience is needed.
Heimo will provide the computers used for the activities and also game accounts if necessary. Participants can use their own peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headphones, mouse pad). We recommend that participants use their own gaming account.
The Espoo Esports Hobby Path Project offers free e-sports activities for lower secondary school pupils after their school day. The project models the Esports Hobby Path by offering young people short-term esports hobbies. Hobby groups will be organized between 10 September and 11 December 2026. The principles of a safer space are applied in the hobby groups.
