The world’s only messenger of Finnish-Bulgarian groove, DANTCHEV:DOMAIN brings together musical elements from the North and the South in a truly unique way. The band’s genre-defying style draws from both jazz and the aesthetics of experimental music. Since 2019, the group has earned acclaim as a versatile and charismatic ensemble both in Finland and on international stages. At every show, the band captivates audiences with its broad palette of sonic colours, finely honed interplay and magnetic stage presence.
The powerful vocals of Anna Dantchev, also known by her artist name “Bulgarian Voice from Finland”, echo the mountains of Bulgaria, the lakes of Finland and the pulse of the world. Cinematic melodies, tight rhythms and lyrics reflecting the world around us invite the listener on a lifelong journey filled with twists, turns and endless shades of colour.
At April Jazz Club, DANTCHEV:DOMAIN takes the audience into the stories and atmospheres of their third studio album, released in 2025. To Those Who Have Gone, I Sing in a Key of D is an eight-song collection inspired by the transience of life, and dedicated to gratitude for life, music and one’s roots.
DANTCHEV:DOMAIN’s debut album Say It was selected as the Finnish Folk Music Album of the Year in 2020. Their second album, The Lions We Are, was reportedly the first Finnish album released in Dolby Atmos in 2022.
