One of our country’s most respected and beloved soloists, the natural and authentic Johanna Iivanainen, will celebrate her 50th birthday this November. To mark this milestone year, the artist will perform in two celebratory concerts in magnificent settings. Iivanainen arrives at Tapiola Hall on November 18th. Her band features accomplished musicians from throughout Johanna’s long career: Mikko Iivanainen (guitar), Seppo Kantonen (piano), Juho Kivivuori (double bass), and Anssi Nykänen (drums). The concert repertoire consists mainly of Johanna’s own English- and Finnish-language solo material. Both concerts will feature new arrangements crafted specifically for this line-up, as well as brand-new, unreleased music.
“The years roll by faster, while I move slower, but the love for singing remains constant. I feel incredibly grateful for how many wonderful, top-tier musicians I’ve had the privilege to work with while sharing emotions and stories with people. Inspired by the example of the bandleaders I admire, I have since focused on creating my own music. I am so glad to have these dear musicians join me for these anniversary concerts, and it is wonderful to see these songs come alive with the unique color they bring,” Johanna comments on her anticipation for the concerts.
Johanna Iivanainen (b. 1976) is a singer-songwriter originally from Oulu, now based in Mäntsälä. Johanna’s fresh and natural stage presence, combined with her nuanced interpretation, has won acclaim both in television productions and in her astonishing discography of over 50 recordings, as well as through numerous concert appearances.
