This summer you can explore the nature of the Baltic Sea through this photograpic exhibition in the Fisherman's Cottage at the Pentala Archipelago Museum.

Beneath its waves lies great beauty and a wide variety of species. In Tuuri’s images, the Baltic Sea reveals its best sides, and it is also his soul landscape. The photographs invite viewers to descend below the surface and discover, among other things, three key habitats of the Baltic Sea: bladderwrack meadows, eelgrass beds, and blue mussel bottoms.

Pekka Tuuri has photographed Finnish underwater worlds for over 30 years. The Baltic Sea is his soul landscape. Each day of photographing is an adventure for him in the living, diverse, and still partly unknown aquatic nature. In his images, the beauty of nature is brought fully to life. Tuuri is currently working on a photo book about Finnish fish, which will be published in autumn 2027.
