Affections and Reflections is an exhibition based on personal experience and an ongoing connection between past and present. Created by fine art student Jonny Dieb, who lives in Finland and has roots in Brazil and the United States, the works explore what it means to live between cultures and adapt to change over time.

Now living in Finland with his Finnish family, Dieb draws from his multicultural background across the Americas as well as his life in Europe. These influences come together in his paintings in a way that feels deeply personal, while also inviting viewers to form their own interpretations. He approaches art as a way to understand emotions and support well-being, both for himself and for those experiencing the work.

Through Affections and Reflections, viewers are invited to reflect on how cultural identities are shaped, and how artists from different backgrounds continue to redefine and expand them in a contemporary context.

The exhibition can be seen during the library opening hours. Welcome!
