DanceWorks Helsinki

DanceWorks Helsinki’s new work titled Romantics combines dance art and classical piano music. The choreographer is Anu Sistonen known for her sensitive language of movement and strong musicality.

Romantics is a work of dance and music for four dancers and a pianist. The work is inspired by piano music composed in the 19th century that has touched people from generation to generation. It builds a bridge between different eras, strivings for a symbiotic connection between dance and music, and highlights the power of art to support humanity. The dancers make music visible in this work and, with its support, forge a strong bond with each other. The choreographer is dance artist Anu Sistonen. The performers are dancers Suvi Honkanen, Jack Traylen, Liza Vorontsova and Waltteri Voitila as well as pianist Samuel Eriksson.
