Come celebrate Baby’s Day on September 25 at Lippulaiva Library in Espoonlahti! This free event for families with children includes concerts suitable for babies and toddlers, a light bath, and a poetry spa for babies. At the same time, you’ll get tips on creative activities you can do at home and through the city’s cultural services.

Program:

10:00–10:30 a.m. | Sinfonietta Quartet: Lie-Down Concert | Salonki

The Tapiola Sinfonietta string quartet will play a half-hour concert featuring familiar classics and other fun pieces.

Children may listen to the concert while lying down or lounging on mattresses or sitting on their parent's lap. The concert is suitable for all children and adults – and it's completely free!

10:30 a.m. - 11.00 p.m. | Poetry spa for babies | Salonki

Babies need to be stimulated in their own mother tongue. Babies love to play, and they love snappy rhymes and the rhythm of poems – which, according to research, also stimulates their brains!

Through poems and nursery rhymes, babies have their first literary experiences.

Give your child the gift of melodic language! Welcome to a world of poems and nursery rhymes!

Instructor: Pirkko Ilmanen, Espoo city library

11:15 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Light Bath | Salonki

Play in colorful shadows and have fun with mirrors. Let your little ones fill up on light in their own wonderland. Recommended age: 4–14 months. The light bath is open non-stop.

Instructor: Jenni Vilander, Aurora Children's Cultural Center

10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Meet library staff, church in Espoo staff, residents park staff and community centre staff at Library’s central plaza near the family area

Baby's Day is organised by CultureEspoo's children's cultural operators, including Espoo City Library, Children's Cultural Centre Aurora and Tapiola Sinfonietta.
