Artist and commercial artist Göran Hammarström (b. 1932) has had a rich artistic career.
Hammarström worked as a commercial artist at Mainos Yhtymä in Helsinki during the 1960s and 1970s, and thereafter he ran his own advertising agency in Vaasa until his retirement.
Throughout his life, he has painted alongside his work, initially in oils, but since 1987, watercolor painting has been his primary interest and focus for many years.
The exhibition features only a small selection from Hammarström’s extensive collection of watercolors. He has captured the essence of nature as dreamlike as it is with clear lines. His interest in ships and boats is evident in his works, as is his ability to capture the atmosphere of the sea, the sky, nature, and especially the archipelago.
The exhibition is open during library hours. Welcome!
