Accordion artist and composer Maria Kalaniemi and pianist and composer Timo Alakotila are pioneers in the Finnish music field. They have performed around the world and in 2026 their duo will celebrate their 35th anniversary. In honor of the anniversary, the duo will release a new album in May and perform concerts throughout the anniversary year. The repertoire consists of the duo's own new compositions, but Finland-Swedish folk music is also included in the duo's skilful and distinctive arrangements. Lasse Mårtenson's composition Morning Mist will also be performed in the duo's own version.
