kellojakorumuseo.fi(external link, opens in a new window)The collections of Museo Kruunu originated with the establishment of the Finnish School of Watchmaking in 1944 and the teaching collection it assembled through donations of various clocks, watches, and watchmaking tools. In 2015, a project was launched to expand the museum concept to include not only horology and the watchmaking tradition, but also jewellery and goldsmithing. The collections also include an extensive archive, library, and photograph collection.
The exhibition Traces of Craft presents the museum’s collections in a broad scope, featuring both long-time favourites and more recent donations. In the exhibition, you can explore not only the museum’s own history through its collections, but also Finnish watch and jewellery history through the objects used here and the stories they tell. These objects reflect Finnish cultural history, and the collections preserve the craftsmanship of numerous skilled artisans from the past.
