Sleeping Beauty – life from tradition to the present day

Thursday, April 9, 2026, 10:00–10:30 a.m. at Hiirisuo Residents' Park

The performance brings to life the original handmade puppets created by the respected puppet maker Lembit Roosa, which appeared over a hundred times at the Green Apple Theatre. After a break of four decades, these skilfully crafted puppets gain a new life in the hands of director Elina Rainio and actor Pirre Toikkanen. The performance combines traditional puppetry with the world of today’s children – gently, interactively, and with a strong sense of presence.

Puppet theatre brings art directly into children’s everyday lives – right where they already are. It offers a counterbalance to the digital world: tangible interaction and a safe space for exploring emotions and stories.

Target group: children aged 3–8

Duration: approximately 30 minutes

In co-operation with Espoo Culture, Libraries and Hiirisuo Residents' Park
