This course covers the fundamentals of music theory in a practical, hands-on way. We will explore notes, intervals, chords, rhythm, and scales. Through practical examples and exercises, we will examine how this knowledge can enrich musical understanding, listening, and playing experiences.

The course focuses on the theory of Western art music, and this knowledge will be broadened with examples from other musical cultures. No prior knowledge of music theory is required. You can bring a melodyinstrument if you have one.

Maximum of 10 participants.

The route to the main entrance

The 4 accessible parking spaces are located in a parking hall under 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is at least 3.6 m.

The main entrance

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated.

Esteettömät autopaikat sijaitsevat pysäköintihallissa. Ovi kirjastoon johtavalle hissille avautuu painiketta painamalla.
Sisäänkäynti sijaitsee Leppävaarankadulla, josta kulku kirjastoon hissillä. Sisäänkäynnin ovet eivät avaudu automaattisesti (pl. pysäköintihallin ovi).
Esteettömät autopaikat sijaitsevat pysäköintihallissa kerroksessa P1, rivillä M. Ovi kirjastoon johtavalle hissille avautuu automaattisesti. Ovella korkea viistetty kynnys.
Sisäänkäynti sijaitsee Ratsutorin ja Ratsusolan risteyksessä, josta kulku kirjastoon hissillä.
