Praised for her powerful solo albums and genre-defying artistry, Aili Järvelä joins forces with the Tapiola Sinfonietta in a captivating concert where modern songwriting meets symphonic sound.

Counted among Finland’s most fascinating contemporary artists, Järvelä has impressed both audiences and critics with her wide-ranging talent. While rooted in the country’s rich folk music tradition, she is above all an exceptional singer-songwriter, composer, and soulful performer, effortlessly moving between musical worlds.

Throughout her career, Järvelä has released several acclaimed solo albums and composed music for orchestras, big bands, choirs, and diverse ensembles. Her creative scope also includes musicals, and she has worked extensively as a freelance musician in numerous groups, including several award-winning folk music ensembles. As an educator, she has shared her expertise at over one hundred Näppäri courses, inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Järvelä’s artistry has also reached wide television audiences — she has appeared in Dancing with the Stars Finland, performing her song Kaikesta kaukana, and in The Best Singers (Vain elämää), interpreting Paula Vesala’s Tulkoon mitä vaan.

Her song “Roihuvuori” was chosen among the Top 50 Finnish song lyrics of the millennium by readers of Helsingin Sanomat in 2020. Järvelä’s first musical, “Katrina” (2024), received glowing reviews and enthusiastic audience response. Her latest solo album VUORI (2025), self-produced and released independently, has been widely praised — Yle’s journalist Pekka Laine named it among the most significant Finnish releases of the year.

Having composed, written, arranged, and produced the entire album herself, Järvelä once again proves her depth as a musical storyteller and her uncompromising artistic vision.

An evening of emotion and resonance awaits in Tapiola Hall, where voice and orchestra breathe as one through Aili Järvelä’s distinctive sound world.
