What is the most important celebration for you and your community? Is it, for example, Eid al-Fitr, Easter, Diwali, a neighborhood party, or Hanukkah? Espoo is a multicultural city, and at KAMU Espoo City Museum we want to celebrate that.
KAMU Espoo City Museum invites all residents of Espoo to organize celebrations together for the museum’s 70th anniversary. The celebrations will take place at Glims Farmstead Museum. The anniversary year is 2028. We are starting preparations already now so that as many city residents as possible can participate.
We hope to host celebrations of different cultures and related events starting in November 2027 and throughout the entire anniversary year 2028. We would like to do all this together with you!
What will we do?
KAMU Espoo City Museum will organize meetings where we will present the museum, discuss together, and choose the themes for the celebrations. See the locations, dates and registration information below.
You can join on your own, with your family or friends, or with your association or community.
You do not need to prepare anything in advance. At the meetings, we will plan together and work in groups. We will get to know each other, look for similarities between celebrations, and learn new things together.
Participation is free of charge. You can come to listen and discuss, and then decide whether you want to take part in organizing the anniversary year. If you need an interpreter or childcare, or if you have questions about the meeting place or arrival, please contact kirsi.ojala@espoo.fi, +358 40 6368416.
