Celebrate International Mother Language Day and the beginning of Multilingual Month with a joyful musical fest by the singing group Sargam.
This heartwarming and inclusive event brings together children from Indian backgrounds to honour linguistic diversity through music. The free gathering features a vibrant selection of songs in several Indian languages as well as Finnish, woven together with light‑hearted conversations about maintaining one’s mother tongue while living in Finland.
Through the universal language of music, young performers remind us that every mother tongue is a bridge — connecting hearts, cultures, and generations in harmony.
Sargam, led by Sajal Sau, is a singing group where music transcends boundaries and blends the rich spirit of Indian and Western traditions. Their performances celebrate creativity and joy through a fusion of cultures, instruments, and musical styles. The group’s repertoire spans Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, English and occasionally Finnish, reflecting their belief that music speaks to the heart beyond words.
