Peer support group for those who have lost a pet

One part of the journey of having a pet is the often very difficult moment of letting go. To support people grieving the loss of a pet, the Kivenlahti Dog Club Kiveko ry will organise a pilot peer support group at the Iso Omena Library in spring 2026.

What does the group offer?

A safe and empathetic space to share feelings and memories, an opportunity to receive peer support from others who have experienced the same, and a chance to listen, talk, or simply be present.

The group meets on three Mondays at Iso Omena Library at the following times:

Mon 2 March 2026, 18:10–19:30

Mon 9 March 2026, 18:00–19:30

Mon 23 March 2026, 18:00–19:30

Participation is free and does not require Kiveko membership. The group is open to everyone, but participants must be adults. There is space for 8 participants in order of registration.

Register by 23 February by sending an email to kivekoposti@gmail.com. In your message, include your name, phone number, and a short description of your situation (which animal you lost and when).

If you have any questions about this pilot group, please contact the same email address.

Join us for a moment together – grief becomes lighter when it can be shared.

Warmly welcome!
