43 Petals is an ode to life, color, and joy.
The title refers to the artist’s age and the passage of time: each year is like a new petal – a layer of experience, growth, and richness. Every lived year adds depth to life.
The number 43 also carries a playful symbolism: like the phrase “loves me, loves me not,” counting the petals always ends with loves me.
The works in this exhibition were created between 2020 and 2026. Nature is a central theme, and some pieces were painted outdoors. The exhibition includes both mixed media works and oil paintings.
Manuela Norrgrann (b. 1983, Italy) is a visual artist based in Espoo, Finland. She graduated from Helsinki Upper Secondary School of Visual Arts in 2004 and completed her visual arts diploma with a grade of 4/5. In 2005, she studied at Pekka Halonen Academy.
Her work is characterized by vibrant colors, nature-inspired themes, and a personal, positive expression. Birds, flowers, and contemplative female figures frequently appear in her paintings. Nature serves as both inspiration and workspace.
Her artistic practice re-emerged strongly about eight years ago, and nature-themed works created since 2020 form a central part of her portfolio. Her latest oil paintings were completed in 2026.
Norrgrann works with mixed media and oil painting.
