The ten-strong Les Fleurs Noires is an orchestra of Argentinian and French musicians that defines its genre as 'tangos aumentados' – tango in new dimensions. The group gave its first performance in Finland in autumn 2025, wowing an international audience of music professionals at the WOMEX Worldwide Music Expo event in Tampere. Les Fleurs Noires ('black flowers), which consists of female musicians only, creates new, fresh interpretations of the male-predominated tango tradition from Argentina. Tango music with its diverse roots takes on new timbers and forms of expression in the hands of Andrea Marsili, an Argentinian composer and pianist. Influences from other tone worlds are also included: experimental music, post-minimalism and jazz.
The audience can expect a unique, sensitive but intensive concert experience, in which two visiting soloists complement the orchestra: the strong interpretations of vocalist Mandy Lerouge and the rich rhythms of percussionist Vanesa García will add their unique spices to the bandoneon harmonica, piano and string instruments.
Duration 1 h 30 min, incl. intermission
