Leppävaaran budoseura ry

Leppävaara Budō Club is a 20-year-old Japanese sword arts club based in Espoo and a member of the Finnish Kendo Federation.

Modern kendo is a full-contact martial art practiced with bamboo swords while wearing protective armor. Training consists of solo and paired drills, as well as sparring against an opponent.

Kendo does not require strength but technique. When you begin training, you only need basic training clothes (sweat pants & t-shirt, for example). Other equipment you can borrow from the clug. After completing the course, you may participate in all of our club’s kendo training sessions.

The course will be held at the Leppävaara Omnia sports hall on seven Saturdays from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, starting January 17, 2026.

The recommended minimum age for our courses is 15 years and above. No maximum age limit! Unfortunately, we do not currently offer junior kendo.

NOTE: With the same course fee and license, you may participate in the basic courses of all disciplines if you wish!
