Hello reader! In the library you can read to a reading dog!

Macy is a 3-year-old English setter.

At Kalajärvi Library on Wednesdays in even weeks, starting at 18:00-19:00 January 7, 2026.

If you are just learning to read or find reading a little difficult, come and read to Macy, because a reading dog never barks at its reader.

Everyone is welcome to come and pet her!

The route to the main entrance

The accessible parking space is located outdoors over 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking space is less than 3.6 m.
The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
The route to the entrance is guided, smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The main entrance

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
The doors connected to the entrance are hard to perceive. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door is heavy or otherwise hard to open.
The entrance has thresholds over 2 cm high.
