An intimate and soulful concert, with the emotion of Portuguese fado and compositions by Esa Helasvuo in a spirit that revives the rune singing tradition of Karelia. The concert will be positively sizzling with musical energy, all at once comforting, touching and surprising the audience.
Kirsi Poutanen is a multitalented artist who is best known as a Finnish musician and singer specialising in Portuguese fado. She has been nominated for the Emma Award in Finland and the Premio do Amália in Portugal.
In November 2025, Poutanen released her new album, Kuulin Kui Helizi Fado - Lissabonin fadokujilta Karjalan laulumaille | From the Fado Alleys of Lisbon to the Karelian Songlands. The album was recorded in Lisbon and Finland in collaboration with Portuguese and Finnish musicians.
In this concert, Poutanen will be accompanied by pianist and composer Esa Helasvuo on their way to the Karelian songlands.
