The Dance of the Fireflies offers a glimpse into the fleeting and magical moment between light and the individual.

It is a window into a connection, where the sparkle and heat of light and contradiction are present.

I welcome you, as a firefly on the ceiling, to see how complex, like-minded people are intertwined to make a single story.

Created by circus artist, Sini Napari, Dance of the Fireflies is a solo work that takes music, light, movement and balancing to a new level. 

Lighting tightrope walking in unexpected ways and the movement of LED lights to the rhythm of dance, music and jumps create the illusion of dancing fireflies. 

Playing the role of fireflies, the LED lighting equipment designed by circus engineer Anssi Kolehmainen is combined with tightrope walking and balancing on bottles in ways not seen before, telling the story of fireflies. The soundscape was created by Kaisa Ristiluoma, whose composed the music in a seamless symbiosis with the lights.
