Purdy & Barker’s (Maukka and Väykkä) day takes an exciting turn when Barker suddenly experiences an overwhelming sense of fear. As is her way, Purdy seriously overreacts trying to come up with a solution: A molehill becomes a mountain and a teapot is whipped into a tempest.

Only genuine friendliness and listening to others ultimately enables friends to deal with sticky situations. Timo Parvela’s warm humour and Iiro Rantala’s swinging music help Purdy and Barker get through the day with joy and courage.

Purdy & Barker’s Silly Day is the third Purdy & Barker musical produced by this production team. Because Timo Parvela has a special talent for writing on multiple touching and humorous levels in his stories, the performances speak to audiences of all ages. The diversity of Iiro Rantala’s compositions conveys the charming free-spiritedness of the stories. The long journey shared by Purdy and Barker can be seen and felt as a seamless interaction between the stage and the performers and the audience.
