Finnish prog-rock band Tabula Rasa is back on the gig circuit!

The storied band will be performing at Sello Hall in Espoo on Saturday, 2 May. 2026

Tabula Rasa, which was formed in 1972 and released two albums, is one of the pioneers of Finnish progressive rock. After having developed its own sound, drawing influences from Cream, Jethro Tull, King Crimson and Wigwam, Tabula Rasa ended its run with the single Rakastatko vielä kun ilta, which is also Tabula Rasa’s most famous song.

Even though the idea for Tabula Rasa to make a comeback is not exactly a new one, it was revived at the memorial concert for guitarist Heikki Silvennoinen in May 2025. Silvennoinen was one of the founding members of Tabula Rasa, along with bassist Tapio Suominen and drummer Asko Pakkanen, who are also part of the current band make-up. In addition to Suominen and Pakkanen, the band is also joined by Jukka Salmela, who was the band’s lead singer in the first iteration of Tabula Rasa, his daughter Anna Salmela on vocals, Jorma Kahilainen on keyboards, Markus Pajakkala on flute and organ, and Kemmo Silvennoinen on guitar.
