Where can we find positivity in the future of Finland?
Kaamos is the Finnish word for the everlasting night, the point of year at which the sun no longer rises. For many at the moment, it can feel like Finnish politics and society are having a similar Kaamos. With negative rhetoric, discriminatory policies and rising inequality, it can feel like a country stuck in darkness, the sun a distant memory.
The sun will however always shine again. What then, are these sources of positivity? How can we build a Finland for everyone, and where to find the energy to even care?
Speach by Pekka Haavisto has been cancelled. There will be a panel discussion and Q&A featuring perspectives of those who have moved to Finland and found a place in politics and making a difference here.
