Ylva Haru is a Finnish folk/pop-americana singer-songwriter and producer whose sound is a combination of sensitivity, rich guitars and vocal harmonies, strong melodies, and nuanced rhythms.
The artist’s story starts in the autumn of 2012, when she visited Klovharu, Tove Jansson’s cottage island, where she heard the sea singing. This magical experience inspired her artist name, Ylva Haru, under which she has been performing her released songs since 2016.
In her music and song arrangements, the songwriter draws inspiration from nature, other art, architecture, visuality, spirituality, mysticism, books, stories, and environments that inspire and soothe creativity. She comes into her own when perceiving even the slightest nuances, emotions, and details and putting them into words.
