Absoluuttinen Nollapiste was founded in Rovaniemi in 1991 and is now based in Tampere and Helsinki. It is a pioneer of progressive Finnish rock. The band's music combines 1970s Love Records-style prog, stream-of-consciousness lyrics, and uncompromisingly original rock. The band, which changed its name from Keuhkotautiset Marsut, has grown over the years into a cult favorite, whose output is at once intellectual, playful, and profound.

Absoluuttinen Nollapiste has released numerous albums, of which Neulainen Jerkunen, Simpukka-amppeli, Suljettu, and Olos have established themselves as classics of Finnish alternative rock. The band is also known for its energetic and surprising live performances.
