Through architectural and portrait photography, the series explores their distinctive charm, community presence, and enduring relevance in everyday life.
Alexander Komenda (b. 1992) is a Polish-Canadian artist-photographer based in Espoo, Finland. His practice explores everyday life—examining questions of identity, home, and belonging. He works through community engagement and encounters, photographing the spaces where ordinary life unfolds.
He holds a BA in Documentary Photography from the University of South Wales and an MA in Photography from Aalto University. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the National Portrait Gallery (London), the Finnish Museum of Photography (Helsinki), and Technische Sammlungen (Dresden). His upcoming debut monograph, A Bowlful of Kumis (2026), is a decade-long journey in Kyrgyzstan that explores how everyday life, geopolitics, and myth intersect within the post-Soviet space. He works across books, exhibitions, and installations, creating spaces where personal and collective histories intersect.
The exhibition is open to the public during the Cultural Centre’s opening hours (Mon–Fri 8am–8pm, Sat 9am–6pm, and on Sundays during events).
