The award-winning Norwegian noise rock band Årabrot is coming to Finland on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
The soundscape of Årabrot is a broad and diverse array of considered contrasts. It is a world in which noise, dissonance and tension collide with momentary harmony. However, the band’s medium of expression is not limited to noise rock - it is also capable of producing a dark, velvety elegance, with pop and cabaret influences.
Kjetil Nernes is the heart of Norwegian group Årabrot. In 2014, he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, which nearly took his life.
A long period of recovery gave him time to rethink his life and artistic direction. He says that after the illness, everything changed: “I struggled out of that period of extreme sickness by writing the last album The Gospel. It was like a big explosion. Because after an explosion you have silence. And in the silence you realise that everything has changed.”
Today, Nernes lives together with his musician wife, Karin Park, and their daughter in an old church in Djura, Sweden. It is also the birthplace of Årabrot’s new music - from the silence that followed the upheaval in his life.
Ticket sales for this unique concert will open on 31 October at 10:00 am
