This visual and interactive lecture encourages reflection: which is easier to paint or draw—an egg or a human face?
And which is more important in art—a person's appearance or their personality?
How can a portrait reveal more than just external features—perhaps even something the subject does not yet know about themselves?
How can a portrait reveal more than just external appearance—
perhaps even something that the subject does not yet know about themselves?
Together, we will take a look at prehistoric cave paintings and the exquisite
Baroque court portraits of the 17th century. Then we'll move closer to
the present day. This way, we'll do a quick artistic survey of human faces
through different eras.
The lecture isn't just about listening: the audience will get to sketch a simple
portrait under the guidance of a professional artist.
Drawing materials will be provided
on site, and no previous experience is necessary. The event is
fun, relaxed, and suitable for visitors inspired by the subject as well as
families with children. Svetlana Ruoho – come and listen!
Free entrance.
