Ystäväluistelu, Espoo's annual skating event, has become a unique tradition of the city combining skating and live music at the Tapiola Ice Garden on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 16-19. The event combines ice skating and live music. 

Tapiola Sinfonietta will perform a film music themed concert from the Cultural Centre’s Tapiola Hall, with Oona Airola and Antti Koivula, conducted by Ako Kiiski. The concert will be streamed live to the Ice Garden providing a wonderful setting for skating on a beautiful winter’s eve. The audience at the Cultural Centre will see atmospheric bits streamed from the skating rink. 

The event is hosted by Sami Sykkö and Mila Kajas. 

The program at the Ice Garden will start at 4 pm with skating shows. After the skating shows (around 4:30 pm), the ice rink is open to everyone. Admission to the Ice Garden is free. 

Tapiola Sinfonietta's concert starts at the Tapiola Hall at around 4:30 pm (duration approx. 90 minutes). Tickets to the Tapiola Hall concert are on sale online at the lippu.fi webshop (tickets €6 + order fee (from €1,50 + 0,65% of the order).

The stream from the Ice garden to Tapiola Hall starts at 4 p.m.  The opening speeches and skating performances of the event can also be followed from the concert hall. 

Café Hile and two food trucks are open in the Ice Garden during the event. 


Program of the event 

at 16:00– 16:30 Opening of the event and skating demonstrations, the ice will be opened to the public approx. at 16:30 

at 16:30–18 the Tapiola Sinfonietta concert in the cultural center's Tapiola Hall - with Oona Airola and Antti Koivula, conducted by Ako Kiiski

at 18–18:30 Music played from a playlist for ice skaters 

at 7 p.m. the Ice Garden is beeing closed to ice skaters.
