The upper comprehensive school pupils' fencing

Come and practice fencing now and join our fencers!

The activity is organized in cooperation with the City of Espoo and Espoo Miekkailijat fencing club. The activities includes insurance and professional guidance.

The fencing training sessions are led by the head coach of the Espoo Swordsmen, an Olympic-level fencer, Kimmo Puranen, a diploma coach with international fencing training and assisted by the club's young instructors.

In the termin season 2024-2025, we will be fencing in the fencing salle of the Tuulimäki sports hall (Itätuulenkuja 9, Tapiola) on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: And you can join us anytime on Wednesdays in the future!

• The first training session of the autumn season 2025 is Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, and the last is Wednesday, December 10th, 2025.
• The first training session of the spring season 2026 is Wednesday, January 7h, 2026, and the last Wednesday, April 29th, 2026.
• The activity is not held during school children's autumn, Christmas and winter holidays or on public holidays.
• Changes are possible.

We hope that you would be there by 3:00 p.m., but you can come later, at the latest at 3:30 p.m., if you don't leave school right away to the fencing gym.

All you need is a cheerful attitude and sports clothes (indoor shoes, sweatpants and a t-shirt). You can get the right fencing equipment on site. Our professional coaches will quickly introduce you to the secrets of fencing. And it costs nothing!
