On Nature Week, join us on a walking excursion through Tapiola, on 1 September at 17:30–18:30 to hear and talk about urban nature!

The excursion starts at Sokos Hotel Tapiola Garden at 17:30. Please dress for the weather, as this is an outdoor event. We will meet you at the starting point.

The walk takes us through Leimuniitty and Otsonlahti, among others, on public paths. This is a roughly 1.5-kilometre walk. Registration is not required to participate.

What’s this all about?

The event is intended for anyone who is interested in urban nature and urban planning. During the walk, you get to hear about different types of urban nature and the climate-smart and well-being benefits they produce.

Diverse urban nature creates many eco-systemic service benefits and is the best solution for adapting to climate change. Paying attention to urban nature and reconciling it with construction requires good urban planning. Espoo is a part of the ARVO project, which is developing the regional green factor, a tool that supports urban planning.

The themes of Nature Week are a part of the event’s discussions: urban nature, ecosystem services and planning.
