Anssi Tikanmäki (1955-2024) was one Finland’s most important composers for bands, theatre and film. Tikanmäki’s sons Eljas and Eemil have now taken up his legacy and orchestra. The “Anssi Tikanmäki In Memoriam: Maisemakuvia Suomesta” concert series revives Anssi's music in concert halls in November-December 2025.

The concert will feature the music of Tikanmäki’s legendary best-selling thematic instrumental “Maisemakuvia Suomesta” in its entirety, including familiar, including beloved songs like Lapin tunturit, Aamu lakeuksilla and Savolainen metsä. In addition, the programme includes music featured in the Kaurismäki brothers’ films, including Anssi Tikanmäki’s arrangement of the Finlandia Hymn, from The Worthless. The music and the concert as a whole are enhanced with dramatic videos.

In his career, Anssi Tikanmäki wrote music for the “Täällä pohjantähden alla musical”. His music also features in Kaurismäki films The Worthless, Juha, The Clan and Master Cheng, as well as Teppo Airaksinen's Juice. He also arranged songs for Juice Leskinen Grand Slam and Yö.

The audience is in for an unforgettable evening with Anssi Tikanmäki’s most significant pieces, played live by a five-person orchestra.
