Can you dance to poetry? The Finland-Swedish group Sven Boom says you can! Sven Boom has specialised in their own songs with lyrics by living and dead poets. The style varies wildly and the songs range from pop and punk to ska, reggae, folk and ballads! What do you think it sounds like when they sing lyrics by Karin Boye, Claes Andersson or Elmer Diktonius? And maybe Edith Södergran's poems have become reggae or punk?

Come and listen, dance, socialise and celebrate Minna Canth's, equality's and libraries' day with swinging music by Sven Boom! Take the opportunity to get a book tip at the same time.

Sven Boom consists of Mathias Furu, Niklas Häggblom, Eva Kela, Patrick Kivelä, Andreas Nygård and Paul Olin.

The event is organised by Hela Helmet läser, a project that spreads the joy and inspiration of reading among Swedish-speaking adults. We organise programmes at Helmet libraries in Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen and Vantaa.
