Philomela is a world-renowned and respected choir, serving as an ambassador for Finnish choral and music culture worldwide. Throughout its 40-year history, Philomela has traveled across the globe, won several choral competitions, and brought Finnish female choir music to international audiences. In 2013 and 2014, Philomela achieved first place with its performances in the European Choir Games and the World Choir Games competitions.

The concert "Kaikki maailman aika" (All the Time in the World), to be held at Tapiolasali, will feature new commissioned works by Philomela. The core of the concert will intertwine the musical traditions and languages of the Nordic region.

The composers for the concert include Ume Sámi artist Katarina Barruk, Icelandic group Umbran's Arngerður Árnadóttir, as well as Finnish composers-musicians Anna-Mari Kähärä, Hanni Autere, and Tellu Turkka, who draw inspiration from Finnish folk traditions and poetry. The program will also feature music by emerging composers, including Eroma, Vilma Jää, Lotta Hagfors, and Anna Gallon.

The concert will be conducted by Anna Gallon, who follows in the footsteps of Marjukka Riihimäki as the musical director of Philomela, continuing the choir’s 40-year history.
