H. C. Andersen’s always topical classic fairy tale features lively music from Avicii to Abba. The performance, described as anarchistic, deals with the behaviour of the masses, the mechanisms of lying and cheating and the influence of power on people. For the children, the story offers insight into the school world, more mature spectators appreciate it as a political satire – and we all get to laugh at the naked emperor’s bottom. The first show by the clown duo of Timo Ruuskanen and Tuukka Vasama for the whole family has been a favourite ever since its creation in 2017. The show is part of the Children’s Weekend event at Espoo Cultural Houses on 1–2 October 2022. Duration: approx. 1 hour, no interval. Age recommendation: suitable for ages 6 and up.
