Printing, copying and scanning at the Espoo city library

You can copy, print, and scan with the multifunction printers in Espoo libraries. You can print from a library computer or your own computer or mobile device.

Espoo libraries use the Princh service for printing, photocopying and scanning. Princh improves security and allows you to send printouts from your own device from home and scan to your own email.

Printing and copying costs €0.20 per file page. Scanning is free of charge at the library.

Printing

Printing is secure because the papers are only printed when the customer releases the printouts themselves with a one-time code at the multifunction printer. The printing software also allows printing from a personal computer via the network or from a smart device.

Printing costs €0.20 per page. You can pay for your copies by bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or MobilePay. You can also pay for prints at the counter during the library's customer service hours. You cannot pay for prints in cash.

Printing in the library is only possible on copy paper provided by the library (size A4 or A3).

Copying

When copying, choose to copy against the glass under the multifunction printer's cover or from the top of the cover using the document feeder. The multifunction printer scans the pages you are copying. You can see a preview of the pages you are copying on the tablet. You can also change the copy settings: single or double-sided copy, colour or black and white copy, copy size (A4 or A3), number of copies.

Once you are satisfied with the settings, accept the terms of service and proceed to the payment method. The cost of copying is €0.20 per page. You can pay for your copies by debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or MobilePay.

If you want to pay by card at the library, you can choose to "pay at the desk". Please note that you can only pay at the counter during library customer service hours. The page will ask for your name so that the library staff knows to charge the correct amount and release your copy. Copies cannot be paid for in cash.

The "pay at the desk" option will give you a four-digit code. Please keep this number in mind. Once you've paid for your copy, enter the code on the tablet next to the printer and your job will print. It is not possible to print your work without the four-digit code. Your code will not be visible to library staff for security reasons. If you lose the code, you will have to start copying from the beginning.

Scanning

You can scan documents and images free of charge using the library's multifunction printers. You can scan to e-mail or directly to a USB stick connected to the device.

When scanning to email, the scanning is done using the tablet attached to the multifunction printer. From the tablet, choose to copy against the glass under the multifunction printer's cover or from the top of the cover using the document feeder. The document feeder allows you to scan A4 or A3 papers. You can preview your scan on the tablet.

Next, enter your email address and create a temporary password. The multifunction printer will send the scanned files to your email as a link from which you can download the scans with the temporary password. The scanned files will be available for download for 24 hours.

If you want to scan a file to a USB stick, you can use your own stick or borrow one from library staff. Scanning to a USB stick is done from the multifunction printer's own display instead of the tablet.
